Sunday School classes are offered each Sunday from 9 -10 AM. There is a class for children and youth of all ages, and several adults classes. Guests are always welcome. Below is a brief description for each class.
Nursery:
Children from birth to four years old are welcome in our nursery. Our nursery attendants are loving and capable. A pager system is used so parents can be in close contact with the nursery at all times. The nursery is available from 9:00 AM until after worship every Sunday morning. The nursery is located across and down the hall from the front office.
Pre-K - 5th Grade Sunday School Class:
KIDS ON THE MOVE…
Learning, Turning, Reflecting (LTR)
Kids on the Move (LTR) is our Children’s Ministry for Pre-K through 5th grade students.
The class meets in the LTR Room located on the North end of the second floor above Koller Hall. Half-way through the class, the younger children and older children split up for age appropriate lessons, with the older children gathering in "The Garden" (the church library) just down the hall.
LTR, “Learning, Turning and Reflecting” is the name given to the children's Sunday School class. We know that our children are active and through the lessons on Sundays they are able to learn about Jesus, turn away from doing bad things and turn toward God, and lastly to learn how to reflect Jesus’ light to everyone they meet!
The children learn through "The Green Family" puppet skits and interaction with "Rovercomer", our class mascot. They sing praise music and occasionally watch stories unfold on DVD. Plus, each week every student is given a bulletin to take home that includes the lesson and the memory verses so that the learning can continue throughout the week!
To encourage children to arrive on time, we also “Jump For Joy” each Sunday morning in Koller Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 8:55 a.m. Children are able to play in our inflatable Little Tikes obstacle course bouncer. This high energy time for the children allows them to be in active fellowship with each other before class, so they are ready to learn when class begins.
6th - 12th Grade Sunday School Class:
Our Merge youth group comes together each Sunday morning to engage in lively discussion that leads to a deeper understanding of scripture. They meet on the third level, first door on the right.
Koinonia:
This adult class is self-taught and is always partaking in meaningful discussion about a book or topic of their choice (currently “Living the Questions”). The Koinonia Class meets in the Fireplace Room on the lower level.
Discussion:
This adult class follows the entertaining and captivating words of Christian authors. These various books touch on becoming a Christian and understanding the work of the Holy Spirit. The stories focus on everyday issues – of hope, doubt, faith, failure, triumph, mercy, justice, and living for God. The Discussion Class meets in the conference room
Bethany Class:
This adult class uses the curriculum of the Christian Church (DOC), The Present Word. It is Bible based and seeks to help its students understand the teachings of the Bible. This class loves to sing Christian favorites! The Bethany Class meets on the lower level in the partitioned classroom in Fellowship Hall.
