Organizing members and friends of Manhattan's First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) into small groups called Care Clusters began in the Fall of 2005.
Care Cluster groups change each year and are created by dividing all church members and friends of the church into equal groups of about 20 family units. All members are included in a group regardless of their level of participation. Each group is assigned at least one Elder who has agreed to be a group leader and pray for each family in the group throughout the year. Each group also includes at least one Deacon. Family units in each group vary in size from single members to larger families with children.
The primary purpose for creating Care Clusters is to make certain that every member of our church family is receiving the love, care, and support they need.
No participation or involvement is required, but members are encouraged to get to know as many of their fellow group members as possible throughout the year. It is in the process of getting to know one another that we recognize how to best love, care, and support one another in Christ.
