GAIL PARSONS

Gail has been a member of First Christian Church since 1961.  He is married to Janice, and between them they have five children.

Gail graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Pharmacy.  The US Army was kind enough to allow him to complete his degree before drafting him during the Korean War.  Gail was eventually sent to Japan to serve in a military hospital caring for wounded soldiers, sailors, and airmen.  After his tour of service, Gail served as a pharmacist in the Walgreen chain, and opened the Wal-Mart pharmacy here in Manhattan.

Gail is one of only a few residents in the world to have received a heart transplant, and one of only a few people who can claim to have scored a ‘hole in one’ (par three, 7th hole, Stagg Hill Golf Course).

Gail has just completed radiation for cancer and maintains a wonderfully positive attitude toward recovery.  If you haven’t met Gail, make sure you do because this very strong and committed Christian, with his spirited personality, will help you to remember the promise that “with God, everything is possible”.

Gail and Janice are at home at 410 Warner Park Road in Manhattan.
