OUR MISSION

TEAM MEMBERS

 

Discipleship ministries focus on activities that teach us how to be true disciples in the world we life in.  These activities encompass areas such as Christian Education, Bible study, Youth activities, Disciple Men, Disciple Women, and related areas.  Persons with an interest in these activities, especially those interested in helping to teach our children and youth to become great Disciples, are encouraged to become involved.  There are many opportunities, both short-term and long-term, to be involved.

WAYS YOU CAN HELP

The Fall Kick-off for Christian Education is Sunday, August 19th!

 

With our Christian Education Director, Stephanie Switzky, stepping down on August 12th, and our not knowing how long it will be before we hire an Associate Pastor to assume Christian Education leadership, the continuation of a fulfilling and meaningful youth program this fall depends on each and every member of FCC Manhattan.

 

Our youth program includes four components:

  • Sunday School

  • Bible Study

  • Fellowship Activities

  • Missions and Conventions

Whether you are young or wise, if you enjoy spending time with kids, we encourage you to take a look at the activities planned for this fall to see what activities you would like to be a part of.  Our youth would really love having your help!

 

We will be having a "Youth Workers Meeting" on August 19th after worship in Fellowship Hall.  A light lunch will be provided.

THANK YOU!

 

One Sunday morning recently,  the LTR was in a place of need and God sent the very best help.  The children never even noticed we were missing some important players.  While we were without our valued David & Renate Woodmansee, Sandy Snoke, Brenda Schurle, Nancy Rumley and Robert Copeland, God heard my prayer and sent the very best of His good and faithful servants.   This is when you really experience Christ alive and well in our church family.

 

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?" "Here I am," I said; "send me!" Isaiah 6:8

  • Thanks to Robert Russell for setting up the Jump for Joy, and to Dale Lackey and Greg Carson for taking it down.

  • Thanks to Patty Duffy and Pam Russell for watching out for the children's safety during Jump for Joy and for being being puppets in the Green family production.

  • Thanks to Shannan Osborn and Chris Davis for being Rovercomer, acting in the skit, and being puppets in the Green family production.  Also leading music and being willing to fill in wherever they are needed.

God is so good so I did not stress how things were going to turn out.   He has called the very best to serve Him.  It was a blessing to my life to see His faithful servants so joyfully serve when He called them.  Thanks so much for your faithfulness and witness to our loving Lord.

 

And God said to them "Well done good and faithful servant" - Matthew 25:21.

NURSERY COORDINATOR NEEDED

 

The Discipleship Ministry Team is needing someone to serve as Nursery Coordinator.  This person would be asked to be in contact with our nursery attendants weekly and would be sure that our nursery is in the best condition possible for our infants and toddlers.  Please contact Janice Barrons if you would like more information.
