TEAM MEMBERS

REACHING OUT - Local and Global ministries of First Christian Church (DOC) focus on the Reaching Out activities of the Church.    These activities include Evangelism, Local Missions, Global Missions, Social Justice, etc.  Persons with an interest in these activities are encouraged to become involved.  There are many opportunities, both short-term and long-term, to be involved.

WAYS YOU CAN HELP

The Local and Global Witness Ministry Team is organized into four (4) areas of concern or interest:

• Evangelism

• Local Missions

• Global Missions

• Social Justice

If you like sharing the good news and helping people in need - either in our local community or beyond, please talk with a member of our team and let them now how you'd like to help.

Several tasks for each of these areas of concern are worked on throughout the year. The following list is not all-inclusive.

• Evangelism = Newspaper and radio advertising; Website; Newsletter; Visitations to new visitors; Friendship bread; Door Hangers-mailings; Acts of kindness Phone Directory

• Local Mission  = Meadowlark; ECM; Shepherd’s Crossing; Community Clinic; Second Helping; Crop Walk; Groups who use our facilities; Tend My Sheep.

• Global Missions = Disciple Mission Fund; Jamaica mission; Blanket Fund (Church World Service); Youth Mission trip.

• Social Justice = Peace and Social Justice; Fair Housing; Fair Wages.

Several of the above items are supported by our church budget, and fifteen percent of our giving goes to Outreach.  We are a very caring and giving church.  In addition to the above items, we have several “special offerings” we take during the year.  Below is an “Outreach Calendar”.  This calendar shows when we will be working on items not already included in the church budget.
