Stewardship ministries focus on faithfully taking care of the Church.  These activities focus on recognizing the resources provided, then using them to help further other church ministries.  These activities include financial planning, budgeting, property improvements and maintenance, and planning for the future.  Persons with an interest in these activities are encouraged to become involved.  There are many opportunities, both short-term and long-term, to be involved.

Whole Life Stewardship

“Blessed by God to Be a Blessing”

Being Good Stewards for everything which God has entrusted us.

The Stewardship Ministry Team had an official meeting on April 7th.

Thermal Comfort Air has been contacted and the compressor unit in the heat pump servicing Christy’s office will be replaced.

Materials received from the Manhattan Day Care and Learning Center have been reviewed including the draft of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).  Robert Russell and Rich Gallagher met with Brady Childress and Kathryn Stich on Friday, April 9th and discussed several issues related to the MOA.  These included: number and age of children served, classroom and nursery sanitation transition protocol on weekends and other times when the classroom and nursery are used by church personnel, insurance documentation, kitchen usage, building access policy after 5:00pm and prior to 8:00am, damage to property, location of play equipment in fenced area, clarification on termination of partnership, and procedures related to potential suspension of state licensing requirements. Upon receipt of a revised MOA we will have legal council review it.  In summary, we are close to having our facility open and providing a much needed community service.

From a revenue/expenditure viewpoint the first quarter of 2010 was termed satisfactory.  We will be continuing our year-round stewardship program and will be promoting the concept of the “5th Sunday Offering” in May.  Rich Gallagher will meet with Pastor Paul Allen and review the stewardship program and make preparations for the Fall Campaign titled Faithful Stewards of God’s Infinite Grace.

The proposed Church Cleaning Checklist was discussed.  Having two All-Church work days during the year and having specific groups (Sunday school classes, Deacons, Bell Choir, etc.) be responsible for cleaning certain areas of the church was determined to be an excellent idea.

A monthly schedule for opening and closing the church on Sundays will be presented to the Coordinating Council with a request for participation.

If you are interested in financial matters, building maintenance, or future planning, this ministry will be of interest to you.  Let us know how you'd like to help!
