This Koine Greek inscription reads, "Our purpose: to love as Jesus did, with reckless abandon."
Our Core Values
Our Core Values:
We share weekly in The Lord's Supper.
We offer the freedom to explore. All are not required to believe the same things.
We provide a place where the constancy of God’s love and the compassion of Christ are expressed.
We care for those who have no relationship with God.
We are a place for healing and comfort.
We work for justice for all God’s people.
We dispel isolation and alienation by celebrating diversity and the inclusivity of Christ’s love.
We serve God and others through the use of our spiritual gifts.
We grow in Christ through the spiritual habits of prayer, scripture reading, small group interaction, and the stewardship of our resources.
We share the stories of our faith and our spiritual journeys with one another in an attitude of grace and understanding.
We believe intergenerational relationships are vital.
We embrace various expressions of worship.
Our Mission
Our Identity: We are Disciples of Christ, a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. As part of the one body of Christ, we welcome all to the Lord’s Table as God has welcomed us. Our Mission: We are here to connect individuals to Jesus and one another, by loving with reckless abandon, communicating God’s grace through our actions as a church. Our Vision: To be a faithful, growing church, that demonstrates true community, deep Christian spirituality and a passion for justice.
Who We Are
First Christian Church is a place where ALL are welcome to gather, to worship, to seek, to ask questions, to doubt, and to feast upon the love of God. At FCC, our worship gatherings could be described as inclusive, sincere, and eclectic. Our service is a blend of traditional and contemporary elements - including songs and special music, prayers and scripture readings, inspirational and challenging messages, and our weekly celebration of the Lord’s Supper. We welcome ALL to the Lord’s Table as God has welcomed us. We are a family, making room for ALL to belong and to be involved in the life of the church. We are a safe place for those who come seeking, who don’t have it all together, who have questions and doubts, and who have been turned away or have walked away. We are a community that strives to combine the heart (passion) of Christianity with the mind (intellect). No matter where you are on your journey of life and faith, we invite you to worship with us this Sunday!
