From Cradles to Crayons, a new early childcare center at the newly constructed First Christian Church, is currently hiring Full-time Lead Teachers for infant, toddler and preschool classrooms. Candidates must be caring, nurturing, enthusiastic and have a passion for working with young children in addition to meeting KDHE Licensing requirements as outlined below.

- Insure safety of all children
- Communicate daily with other classroom teachers and the Director
- Monitor children’s progress
- Communicate with parents as needed
- Participate in team meetings
- Plan and prepare curriculum
- Support other team members
- Develop caring and supportive relationships with all children and their families
- Monitor classroom attendance
- Follow developmentally appropriate practices to nurture all areas of a child’s growth and development
- Care for environment
- Offer ideas for improving the program
- Bring difficulties to the awareness of you supervisor
- Consistently contribute to the team teaching philosophy by educating yourself to the individual needs and personalities of the children
18 years of age and older, ability to pass background checks, health assessment and TB test and AT LEAST ONE of the following:
- Associates or Bachelors Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Family Studies or related study.
- Child Development Associate certificate plus one year teaching in a licensed center or preschool
- At least 12 hours of academic college credit within Early Childhood or Education related studies and three months experience in a licensed preschool or child care center
